For my vinyl project I decided to make a decal of a dog with the word "NEW" in front of it. I had to use three colors so I decided to make the base of the decal red. It was a red square that the "NEW" and dog would go on. I decided to make the word "NEW" in green and have it go diagonal so then I would have more space for the dog. The dog was black and went in the top right hand corner of the red square. The reason that I did this design was because I got a new dog a week and a half ago. I will put this on her kennel so we know that specific kennel is for her and not my other dog.
This is the illustrator file that I made my design in. I had to remeasure and resize the dog and letters a lot until I decided to make the word diagonal in order to make more room for the dog.
Once I finished designing the decal in illustrator I had to export each part into the cutting master 4 software individually. It didn't take too long except I had to cut out each piece individually.
This is the dog part of my decal cutting from the roll of vinyl. The different parts of the project cut out very quickly.
This is my decal on my dogs kennel. It turned out great and we can now distinguish the two different kennels for each dog.
What I learned throughout the process of creating my decal was how to use the vinyl machine. I was taught how to use it earlier in the year by Mrs. Proctor but I only watched the demonstration. With some help I used the vinyl machine for the first time and learned how to use it.
